Before Class-What You Will Learn
This Ole Barn
I am pleased to introduce you to the new Glazing and Texture brushes in Painter 2017. Students will paint a lovely landscape or use the reference provided to work from. I will demonstrate the how and why of using the new Glazing brushes. Glazing is an extremely important technique to imply distance and atmospheric conditions. A glaze is a thin transparent or semi-transparent layer on a painting which modifies the appearance of the underlying paint layer. Glazes can change the chroma, value, hue and texture of a surface.
This class will include a live Webinar session where I will paint a landscape using Glazing and Texture techniques. Student will learn how to turn just about any brush into a Glazing or Texture brush.
Let's Paint Italy!
Welcome to our February Painter Club Lesson!
This month you will be painting the images of Italy. Our first lesson will be painting the famous Golden Bridge in Florence, the Ponte Vecchio.
Our goal in this lesson is to isolate an area of the painting that reflects the detail or the message you want to express and to encourage happy accidents and off beat ideas. We will begin with a very loose interpretation and finish with details.
Our focus is to retain the center of interest by reinforcing it with strong tonal contrast, intense color and interesting textures.
Let's get started!
