About this course

This course is now a Self Study course. Once you enroll you can download all the course content and work at your own pace. This class does not include instructor critiques however you are encouraged to share your work on the DAA Community site.

Welcome to Painter Club! When you join this class you will have access to all the videos and content immediately. 

Skill Level

This class is appropriate for the Intermediate Painter user.

Software Requirements

A working copy of Corel(r) Painterâ„¢ 2016 or greater is required. Remember that you can download a 30-day trial version of the software to use for this class.

A Wacom Pen Tablet & Stylus- Using a Mouse is not the optimal tool for digital painting

A system capable of running Corel(r) Painterâ„¢ 2016 or greater


Lesson One

Abstraction-Creating Abstract images from photos.

Learn creative new ways to develop Impressionist/Abstract paintings using various photos of succulents.

Lesson Two

Still Life

You will explore creative approaches to Still Life painting with Painter. The subject in August is Still Life. Still life is more than groupings of fruit or flowers, the subject matter is broad, so think outside the box for your final painting. Follow the lesson plan but feel free to paint any still life subject of your final piece.

Lesson Three

Floral painting using the Selection process.

Learn a new approach to painting flowers and  assemble them into a beautiful Collage With Painter.

Lesson Four

Wildlife Flora and Fauna

Learn the fundamentals of journaling nature with Painter.

Lesson Five

Portraits in Chalk-Renaissance Ladies

Welcome to November Painter Club where we we take wonderful line drawings of elegant Renaissance ladies and render them into beautiful colored paintings.

Lesson Six

Winter Trees

This month we learn how to paint Aspen Trees utilizing the new Texture options in Painter.
