Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What’s the schedule?
A: Healing After Grief and Loss begins Wednesday February 22, 2017. There will be 5 webinars held on Wednesdays at noon MT (11 am PT; 2 pm ET).
Dates are as follows: 2/22, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22
Everything will be recorded, so you don’t need to attend live to benefit.
Q: Can I get the recordings if I can’t attend the course live?
A: Absolutely! The program is designed to work whether you can attend live or not, and call recordings will always be posted right away. You’ll still get to participate fully in the program and can always ask your questions or participate in discussion via the online forum.
Q: What’s the course format?
A: Each week, we’ll start off with a call around a certain “lesson” or idea. There will be specific exercises each week to help you process and integrate that information. Discussion threads are another important aspect to the course.
Q: What is the time commitment?
A: Each weekly call will be approximately one hour. The exercises (optional but highly encouraged) might take between 15-45 minutes, depending on what you decide to put into the course. You’ll also be encouraged to share thoughts and ideas in the weekly communal threads.
Q: What will the community aspect of this program be like?
A: Healing After Grief and Loss offers an opportunity to connect with others who are interested in restarting their lives after loss. Instead of advice-giving, we’ll focus on witnessing and holding space for each other. We’ll do this in the weekly discussion threads under each lesson.
Q: Do I need to be a writer to take this workshop?
A: Not at all. Some of the exercises include writing, but I’ll never ask you to share anything that you don’t feel comfortable with. We'll have plenty of other safe and supportive exercises as well.
Q: My loss isn’t a death or a divorce. It’s just the end of an old friendship. Is this course right for me?
A: This workshop is for anyone who’s experienced any kind of loss, whether that’s the end of an old friendship, a job loss, a death, divorce, or simply a long period of upheaval. If it feels like a loss, it IS a loss.
Q: My loved one just died. Is my loss too recent for this course?
A: That’s a personal decision and totally up to you. I’d suggest taking a few minutes to sit with yourself and connect with where you’re at right now and what you most need. You might find that you’re not quite ready to move forward yet, or you might feel something stirring within. Listen to your gut.
That said, if you’re struggling with intense grief or acute loss, a therapist would be more helpful to you at this point. We simply don’t have the resources in this course to give you that level of support.
Q: Who shouldn’t take this course?
A: This course isn’t for you if you’re struggling with complicated or acute grief. In that case, please see a licensed therapist.
This course is for folks who are ready to start moving forward in their lives. This is a workshop with an active component that includes exercises and discussions.
Q: I’m having technical troubles signing up.
A: Drop me a line at tanja [at] tanjapajevic [dot] com and we’ll get you set up. (P.S.: If you don’t hear from me within 48 hours, check your spam filter to make sure my message didn’t get stranded.)
Q: I just signed up and now I’m scared that I made the wrong choice!
A: It’s completely normal to feel scared or nervous after signing up. That’s because as soon as you commit to acknowledging your loss, your subconscious starts the healing process. So even though it might feel scary, it’s actually a good sign.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Please carefully consider whether or not you’re ready to make this commitment before signing up. If you decide this course isn’t right for you after listening to the first call, I’ll give you a full refund up to 48 hours after the first call becomes available. Community is an important aspect of this course, and people adding or dropping out after we start tends to be disruptive to everyone.
Q: When's the last day to register?
A: Please register by midnight MST 2/21.
Q: Why can’t I join the course after it starts?
A: Starting together helps maintain the safety and integrity of the group.
Q: I’m not sure if this timing is right for me. When will you teach this course again?
A: Right now, it looks like I’ll probably offer this course again in Fall 2017. If this is something you’d like to explore before then, remember that all of the calls are available to you to work through at your own pace. You’ll have lifetime access and can listen to them at any time.
Q: I’m still on the fence. I don’t know how to decide!
A: Here’s a short exercise that can help you decide which decision feels right for you:
Place your feet on the ground and take a few deep breaths to ground yourself. Now imagine you’ve signed up for the course. How does your body feel? Does your body feel tight? Anxious? Or does it feel relaxed, spacious?
Take another deep breath or two to clear that energy. Now imagine your haven’t signed up for the course. What do you feel in your belly? Tight? Constricted? Or ease? Use your body’s wisdom to help you decide what’s right for you.
