About this course
The movement for transgender rights is a hot topic for the past few years, with the passing of HB2, which limited the availability of safe bathrooms for transgender North Carolinians, and Gavin Grimm’s struggle to use the boys bathroom in his school.
Transfaith's Transgender Liberation series is designed to explore and expand the conversation about transgender rights from inclusion to justice to liberation, by engaging the work of transgender spiritual/cultural workers who working at the forefront of those lived realities.

This Free, On-Demand, Self-Guided introductory course will provide a survey of themes that will be covered in more depth in future modules. This series is designed for people who have some experience with transgender identities (e.g. Transgender 101 opportunities) and are ready to talk about how get involved as friends, allies, and accomplices in the struggle for transgender liberation.
Note: Transfaith for Allies: An Introduction is also available now and introduces the distinction between friends, allies, and accomplices, as well as key concepts such as sphere of influence, the terms paradox, and our framework around the 3 V's (Visibility, Viability, Vitality).
This course is launching on March 24, 2017 alongside the Weekend of Prayer for Transgender Justice, with daily readings and three online chats which will become a part of the permanent course offering.
