About this course

In the dance world, we have dance "intensives".  Serious dance students look forward to them because they really improve your dancing in a short time!  So I thought, why not offer my  art quilting students a way to get better FAST, without a huge time and money commitment.  How?  By coaching you privately in a short burst of weekly lessons over 7-8 weeks, with an intense focus on design, and an intense focus on YOU!

So here's what you will get when you participate in this  7 week course.

  • 7 weekly lessons, including written and video lessons, so that you get to apply the elements and principles of design in your own work.  You will be making your own small art quilt every week to practice the design lesson.
  • Downloadable PDF tools to help you organize, understand and remember the lessons.
  • My constructive coaching feedback on your work in a private 20 minute weekly live video call. This adds up to over  2 and one half hours of live coaching time with me.  This alone is a $250 value.
  • Email access to me during the week for any questions that pop up- like having me in your back pocket!
  • BONUS: final 30 minute LIVE video call  to give an overall critique of your progress through the course, and focused discussion of your next steps.
  • The lessons will be available every week, one at a time, AND after the course is over, you will still have access to all the materials online.
  • Access to my Private Reading & Resources List, these are some of the great books on design, great websites, and blogs, that I have found very helpful in my work and I want to share them with you.

What you will need:

  • a decent internet connection.
  • the ability to take digital pictures and post them in the course for me to review
  • 20 mins on a Sunday evening to live video chat
  • some time during the week to work on your lesson and complete the assignment, fusing your design and/or using a glue stick is recommended for quicker results
  • 7-8 weeks to devote to the course, 1 week extra for vacations, etc. is built in.

I will give you the nuts and bolts of design, so you can make your own amazing work, or improve the work you are already making.  Built into the course is the practice that makes perfect. Traditional quilters as well as art quilters can definitely benefit from this course.

This program is open on May 21, 2017.

Because how much money and time have you spent on classes that have made little or no difference in your design ability?

Because if you keep doing the same things over and over, how can you expect a different result?

Because, award winning quilts start with a great design!

Because without the support and structure of a dedicated coach, won't things just go on as usual?  We are all busy, but unless you make your art a priority, everyone else's agenda will take over.

Don't let that happen this time.  Don't let the inertia of waiting take over.
