About this Course

REGISTER ANY TIME—This is a self-directed class.

This is the registration page for my free, self-directed class to learn how to make a simple pamphlet book structure. (The class includes a bonus structure video.)

In this class I take you through the tearing of your paper, the creation of your cover, and the sewing of your book.

Necessary supplies are listed so that you can have a great binding experience, but the best thing is that you need very few supplies to make a pamphlet! A handout provides additional information.

I use Fabriano Artistico 140 lb. watercolor paper for the "text" paper of my example projects, but you can use any paper you want to use. I provide instructions on how to determine grain direction of any paper you're using so you can create a pamphlet with YOUR favorite paper in the page size you desire!

Pamphlets are a great way to test a paper for binding and visual journaling possibilities without going to great expense in materials or time. They are also useful for notes, and travel journals, and special themed journals. Best of all they provide the perfect "surface" for artists to express their individuality through decoration.

To join this class you'll need to sign up for a free account at Ruzuku. (If you already have one you're part way there!) Then you simply have to register for the class. There is no fee for the class. You can join when you want. You will be working at your own pace.

This free class will be open and available to you for at least one year. Return as often as you like and review the videos.

I hope you'll sign up today and start making pamphlets to fill with your sketches and visual journaling. It's a fun and easy way to enter the delightful world of bookbinding. It allows you to immediately have books with your favorite art papers. Let's get binding.
