A few more details...

Over the past few years, I’ve been doing a lot of work to help doulas, midwives, birth educators, yoga teachers and other birth folk to build their skills and confidence with understanding and discussing research, and to stay on top of new birth-related evidence and thinking. To that end, we offer a number of full-length, interactive, facilitated online courses and also plenty of free resources, including a newsletter, website and sharable social media posts.

My latest project, Tips and Tools for your journey into birth-related research, is a free, mini, self-study online course which I have designed as a way of saying hello to new or aspiring doulas, midwives, birth educators and others. In it, I explain the Birth Information Project, which houses the free resources that I offer to those working with pregnant and childbearing families, and share a few ideas and tips about how to get started on their journey of understanding birth-related research.

I am a midwife, educator, author and researcher, and it's my job to stay on top of the evidence relating to pregnancy and birth. My goal is to help others to stay up-to-date and to build confidence with the evidence. If you're beginning that journey or even if you've been on it for a while and are just curious to see what our online courses might look like, this course is a great place to start.

Unlike our full-length courses, this isn't a facilitated course. If you'd like to chat to Sara and other participants, access the full range of materials that we usually offer and enjoy one of our live webinars, you might like to sign up for a full-length course instead.

Who is it for?

If you are a midwife, midwifery student, birth educator, doula, doctor, medical student, health professional, yoga teacher, birth activist, holistic therapist or birth worker who is woman-centred and interested in updating your knowledge, discussing new research and sharing experiences in a friendly community with myself and a group of like-minded people from around the world, then this course is designed for you. If you're even thinking about becoming a midwife, doula or other birth worker, this course is for you as well!
