Laura Volpintesta, Fashion Illustration Tribe

I want to see you come out of your shell! All of those ideas in your head....I'm here to give you the tools, one by one, to bring them out onto paper, in an encouraging environment that meets you one your schedule. I want you to feel safe to create as you grow into your confidence in a playful, exploring, deep way to know what fashion students are learning in my classes for 20 years now at the best fashion schools, but without the debt and pressure. This is where you can get empowered in a place where you are in the driver's seat, and what you feel, think, know and are curious about matters as you develop your unique style and voice to share with the world....or even just for yourself. I want you to never be afraid of a blank piece of paper again....... xoxo Laura

About this course

Now,

Welcome to watercolors!

Well, specifically __gouache.

I’ve been teaching gouache fashion illustration for  creatives and designers at Parsons School of Design for over 25 years.

But this isn’t a fashion illustration class, even though you will get a print design tutorial as a bonus video after the painting masterclass....

This class shows you how gouache is a more opaque form of watercolor media.

It’s so great for fashion and prints because it’s so creamy, velvety, and rich.....

It has a fabric-like quality, especially when you use it on a special kind of paper called Bristol Vellum.

What’s THAT ????

—-exactly.

That’s why you’re here.

Let’s break down the nitty -gritties and get down to what you need to know to start. and succeed, in exploring and embodying the techniques to enjoy this fabulous medium for a lifetime of enjoyment.

You'll  a good foundation can increase your confidence and give you a framework that you always refer back to in your process.

This class is to get you on your way with vocabulary, basic principles and tools- Not only for designers!

And not only for watercolor,

But for art:

Let's use words like

composition, depth, saturation of color.  Visual effects and foundations  of color and design will also be discussed.

Because all of my courses are like that—multifaceted experiences

A journey that brings together

technique, analysis, heart soul and spirit, message and imaginiation,

all roll it up into one, just like we do when we engage in this work!

.

I can’t wait to see you on the other side and answer your questions and see you sharing your discoveries and questions!

Love
