Mindy Lacefield

Hi! My name is Mindy and I am inspired and paint from the nostalgia of my childhood. Channeling my inner 8 year old. Painting my dreams into reality. I teach. I learn. I play. I make mistakes. I celebrate those mistakes because they become happy, magical moments from the Divine.

Covid Vaccination policy:

Due to the ever-changing Pandemic with the covid delta variant,  I am putting a vaccination policy in place.

The state of New Mexico cannot ask or require vaccinations from their staff but after checking with Mabel's they feel confident that the majority of their staff is vaccinated. As we get closer to the workshop time, I am asking that everyone attending get their covid vaccination.  I want to make this retreat as safe as possible but as you know you will assume some risk as you travel, dine, and interact with others on your journey to the workshop. One thing that Mabel's wanted me to mention, is that food is still being served buffet style. There are tables outside if that makes you feel more comfortable. I hope the weather is good for us. It's so wonderful to eat outside at Mabel's!

Meals:

  • served buffet style - we ask that you wear a mask while in the buffet line.
  • Mabel's is requiring all kitchen staff to mask up as food is prepared/served etc.

Imagine waking up nestled in a space where writers and artists slept... like Ansel Adams, Georgia O'keefe, Dennis Hopper, and Willa Cather. Mabel Dodge Luhan House is a place where these creatives retreated to spend time focusing on their craft. Carl Jung stayed here. Mabel provided a place to nurture their creativity. It was a time for reflection. Focus. And free from distractions. Mabel's is such a special place wrapping you in culture and magic and I am honored to be teaching there.

You can check out all the details  it over on my [blog](http://www.mindylacefieldart.com) to see how to register. I envision cold evenings with wine, yummy breakfasts, and a whole bunch of art making, rich with discoveries.....

Space is limited to a rather small group to really connect and fellowship.

DATES: October 18-22, 2021

We will journal our stories. Paint with curiosity. And embrace the you-ness of you.
Where does your story take you?
Join me in the historic Mabel Dodge Luhan House October 18-22nd, 2021 for 4 nights and 3 full days of creative time.  I’ll be leading you through painting exercises and break out demo’s each day. We will explore animals that speak to us as well as those we might encounter in magical Taos, NM. Diving into what it means to foster happy accidents by working quickly and channeling our inner child, we will scribble and enjoy the process, not worrying about the outcome. Creating is a part of the journey and every mark and “mistake” should be celebrated. Therein, lies the magic of the creative process. We will create with the mindset of what it means to be free to be YOU.

  • Single occupancy - $1465 (private room with private bath)
