About this course

Description

Modern calligraphy is a looser version of traditional calligraphy. The modern calligrapher scribe does use some of the traditional methods but can break the rules and create something spontaneous and free.  In this class I will show you one basic modern font, which you will be able to alter and add your own spin.

To be successful in any course, one must practice.  This course does require a lot of practice…more so than any other course.  As I built the course, I could not help but notice how my skills improved as I practiced.

I give you various practice sheets to help you develop your skills.  I explain how to make the strokes that create the letters.  I show you an example of each letter as lower case and upper case.  Number examples are also included.  I demonstrate two examples of using modern calligraphy and ask you to finish two assignments.

There are 26 videos, which are instantly available once you register for this course.  There are four practice sheet handouts and one brush, called Modern Calligraphy Pen-18.  The pen will work with Painter versions 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.

I enjoyed creating this course and had a lot of fun with modern calligraphy.  I hope to see you in class.  We can have fun together.

Enjoy,

Skip
