About this course

Beginning Your Knowledge Management Journey

I launched the pilot for this course in August 2020. I created this course taking the lessons I learned and the experiences I gained to bring you this course, Beginning Your Knowledge Management Journey.

This COHORT-option is for learners who learn better when in a group to bounce ideas off of and desire more interaction with the instructor.

This course will provide the basics of knowledge management (KM) to new KM practitioners and provide a refresher to those interested in increasing their KM knowledge.

Many of us who have worked as knowledge managers or with KM practitioners have felt like we were just dropped in the deep end of the pool and learned as we tried to not drown. My experiences in the military and in my post-Navy career have included KM so I have built this course to help anyone starting out in KM or wanting to add that little kick of KM knowledge.

Two of my pilot students provided testimonials so you can see the benefits they gained from this course.

My student, Connie, provided this testimonial:

“As a professional working with knowledge, but outside of a traditional KM role, I was interested in learning more about the history and practice of KM, as well as the different tools and methods available to support implementation of it within my current role and organization. The guest speaker and class discussions were very helpful, allowing us to share experiences and outcomes from a diverse mix of backgrounds which encouraged sharing useful tips, suggestions, and best practices. This was a great experience and I am very grateful to Cindy for the opportunity to engage deeper into this topic with other like-minded professionals from a broad range of backgrounds. The experience increased my understanding and awareness of the many facets and benefits that fall under the purview of KM, and further strengthened my resolve to pursue it in my current role.”

Another one of my students, Shana, said:

As a new KM practitioner, I was looking for an organized approach to methodically identify the topics I should know more about. The reading and coaching associated with this program helped me do that and deepened my understanding of many foundational aspects of KM.

Program Manager of Knowledge Management

This COHORT-option is $997 OR you can divide it into three monthly payments of $347 each month.  $997 is less than $15 a day!

Since the end of the pilot course in September 2020, I have been working to create this course that will guide you to beginning your knowledge management journey. I will give you course lessons that will introduce or reinforce concepts, tools, and methods of integrating and using knowledge management to support business operations, improve processes and quality, and to help improve your organizational culture and personnel interaction

From day 1, you will have access to all the PDFs of each lesson so you can focus on listening and learning rather than writing every word I say.

I have also created a downloadable, printable workbook as a PDF specifically to reinforce the lessons and to help you hone your skills through the course using tasks you can take with you to work and use in real-time. You will not be able to get this KM workbook anywhere else!

This course includes:

  • Video instruction with downloadable PDFs of the course material for each lesson
  • Videos of KM experts sharing their wisdom and experiences
  • A downloadable workbook (PDF) to support putting into reality your knowledge management challenges
  • Optional reading for you that ties to each lesson to reinforce concepts in each lesson
  • Live, bi-weekly group discussions on Zoom that will be recorded and sent out to all in case you can't make the calls
  • Private Facebook group page for you to collaborate and interact with your classmates as well as ask me any questions you have about the course material!

The Zoom calls and Private Facebook group access are only available in this COHORT-option.

That’s pretty great for the price! No free course will provide you with all of this!

Your workbook will have actionable tasks each week that will guide you through the course to gain success to introduce and implement or improve the use of KM practices in your organization.

There are no grades, but if you work through the activities as supported by these lessons and your workbook, it will help you retain and put into action the knowledge provided. We will also have bi-weekly Zoom calls to discuss the material presented.

The first Zoom call will be at 6 PM Eastern Time and may change based on the class composition. If you can’t make it, the calls will be recorded and the link will be sent to you by the next day.

You can take your time and use the recommended schedule below or you can watch all the lesson videos once you have access to the course on April 22, 2021.
