About this Course
This is a meditation course for adults who want to learn specific meditation techniques to alleviate worry, fear, anxiety and stress related tension. This is a group coaching experience that includes a discussion board, webinars that you can participate in "live" or download as videos to view at your convenience and audio guided meditations that you can download and use for home practice anytime you need them. There are also teleconference "office hours" where you can call in or participate on the web and ask your instructor questions.
1-Breathing techniques to help you calm down when you are feeling overwhelmed
2-Loving Kindness meditation (metta meditation) to help build compassion for yourself and others
3-Give and Take meditation (tonglen meditation) as a method for dealing with difficult and painful emotions
4-Energizing and healing meditation techniques for mind, body and spirit
All of the practices are secular and can be practiced by adults with any religious or spiritual backgrounds, but the practices are rooted in Buddhist meditation and mind-body traditions. No experience is necessary and you can participate in the group aspects of the course as little or as much as you prefer. All of the videos, audio recordings and handouts can be downloaded and accessed at your convenience.
