About this course
Sexuality is a complex and highly socialized aspect of being a fully social human being. It is also a primary source of intimacy and creativity. We can enjoy vibrant relationships, unparalled self-confidence, and dynamic embodiment when we make friends with sexuality. However, so many of us are embedded within familial and social structures that fracture this wellspring of human vitality. This course offers an integrated, socially-just, and trauma-informed method to support your client's sexual and intimate lives. With the foundation of Sex Therapy with Somatic Psychotherapy and Dance/Movement Therapy, this method is a body-based journey to evaluate and integrate the exciting and easeful aspects of sexuality with the unconscious and fractured aspects, allowing for an integrative exploration and discovery of a whole-bodied erotic self.
Over 2 weekends, we will explore foundations of the theory, experientials and intervention practice, as well as explore ethics and specific case conceptualizations.
